Today I threw away my Time Capsule.

Last thing I got rid of was my iPhone 5, I believe. About 2 years ago. I generally keep all of my old phones just because they're small enough to stow away in a drawer, but the 5 was getting a little too raggedy to keep... The battery must've been expanding, the frame was warped so I got rid of it. Luckily there is an electronics recycler very close to me so when I need to I can load up and go. Back when I was working full time I used to be the one who took everybody else's stuff for recycling, and some of it I actually ended up getting to keep because there was nothing wrong with it at all.

I part exchanged my 3GS and 5S. My 6S is still my backup phone (or to lend to visitors as it has a PAYG data sim in it, which for historical reasons is totally free to use).
My first gen iPad mini is nailed to a wall and used as a remote controller. Well, that was the plan, but in reality it spends 95% of its life turned off doing nothing 🙂
I wanted to retire my 6S and use my 11 as the backup phone, but the screen is smashed and it's not worth repairing. I now have the 17.
My first Macbook - 15" 2013 MBP - runs Ubuntu and also acts as a time-machine destination.
My 2020 Intel MBA was given to my partner and, coincidentally, is going in to Apple today for a new battery, as the current one is so dead the machine is unusable.
I currently have the 14" M4 MBP.
So, thrown away? None, although I'm not sure why I've not chucked the broken-screen iPhone 11 into the bin (iPhone 17 bought last October).

Air Pod Pros in 2021 when they started to rattle and buzz after about 3 months, this being the exchange pair I got from Apple to remedy the exact same fault on the original pair after 11 months.
Bought Sonys afterwards and never looked back.
In the same way that I've never even once considered buying a Sony home computer, who would have guessed that if you want decent reliable portable earphones that the safe bet is with the manuafuturer who literally brought you the Walkman, rather than buying them from a computer manufacturer.

I usually just send off old Apple gear to people who have a use for it. My Quad G5 got shipped out last year.
I have a hard time just tossing components, failed or not, in the trash. Especially stuff that might have the kind of battery you find in a laptop or phone. Too many local news stories of trash trucks catching on fire.
