So i'm thinking of going back to the Apple Store today to see if they will exchange my iPhone for a new one.. My reasons are simple. I want a replacement one just to see if that solves the 3G issues i'm having. The latest fix did nothing for my phone i bought on July 20th..

If only 2% of iPhone 3G owners are affected by this could there be newer iPhones out there with better Infineon chips??

Would i be wasting my time trying to exchange my phone today simply based on the 3G issue?

What kind of 3G issues?

Getting little to no service in areas blanketed with 3G coverage.. Dropped calls

1 to 3 bars maximum is what i get at home which is on the coverage map.

The phone drops down to Edge when i'm sitting at Anaheim Stadium watching an Angels game.. My season seats are right in front of the sign that says "AT&T more bars in more places". The 3G coverage map shows Anaheim Stadium as covered..

Basically i very rarely get 5 bars coverage

yea im pretty sure you can exchange it whenever you want for another year, but i think you have to the 30 days to return the phone, if you bought it from an AT&T store. (Apple store is 14)

Is it absolutely necessary to make an appointment with a genius??

On the website it says the earliest they can take me is on Saturday.

They will replace it if it goes wrong for the next year.

The 30 day period is for morons who buy a $2000 phone, decide they don't like it, and return it.

From my experiences with Apple retail stores, yes, you have to make an appointment. If you show up without one they can try and fit you in if somebody doesn't show up to their appointment

Oh ok.. I just amazes me that they would be so busy to not be able to assist me especially on a Wednesday.. I called in sick today at work and its lunch time right now.. One would think this would be the best time to head down there..

I guess i'll just wait till Saturday:rolleyes:

14 Days to Return
30 Days to Cancel Service with no ETF
1 Year to have replaced
2 Years to have replaced if Apple Care is purchased

TEG

Well i just got back from the Apple store with no appointment with a Genius and they went ahead and did an even exchange for me.. They even brought me a brand new phone instead of a "white box" one..

As for my hopes of this being a solution to my 3G issues, well i can honestly say that nothing has changed.. I'm going to give it a few more days of testing in different locations.. So for at home its about the same as the old one
