Today out 10.13.1 ?

I had to go to the featured tab in the app store, and there at the top where HS is advertised, there was a download button. That's how it was for beta 3 or 4 IIRC, the next beta never showed up for us as an update.

And it will stay on your computer even after you delete the original file.

Dude: Thats the entire point of a backup.

Best way to get rid of those local snapshots? Connect your TM drive and let TM remove it when you have it secured on the TM drive. If you want to put random crap on your Mac and not have TM back it up then simply add the folder to the list of areas excluded from TM backup. Its that simple.

I'm in the public beta program.

I opened the App store app, and all I see available (in updates) is:
High Sierra 10.13.1 Public Beta 5
(not the final public release, NON beta)

If the "final release" of 10.13.1 is out, does anyone have a URL for finding it at Apple?

I don't think there is a combo update package ... yet.

Maybe it is still slowly rolling out. I updated yesterday around 3pm.

If I am running the 10.13.1 (17B46a) Public Beta and want to go back to the stable branch, can I just install the 10.13.1 (17B48) stable build on top of the beta install? I have already removed the Public Beta profile.

What folder/files does one list to exclude local snapshots on the TM backup? Thanks.
There does not seem to be a way to disable those local snapshots in HS like there was in previous versions.

This command will delete them though... but they will come back.

Code:
sudo tmutil thinLocalSnapshots / 10000000000 4

There's never a combo updater for .1 releases because there's nothing to combo.

Does this mean that updating from Software Update on the iPhone is the same as doing so via an iTunes download? I'm still on 10.3.3 but getting ready to take the plunge. Thanks.

Add any folders where you want to be able to save stuff you don't need or want backed up, the machine will still take local snapshots but they won't include folders you have told it to exclude from TM.
