They teach what they need to - Microsoft Office usage so office workers can feign their way past an interview.
 
I go here. Though I do not like the school as a whole, it has (or, had, thanks to Governor Christie's budget cuts) some good benefits.

Freshman year, we learned Microsoft Office. By the end of the year, we took certification tests for Word, Powerpoint, and Excel. I only got certified in the first two. The teacher was not knowledgeable of the subject at all. For passing the course, I got 3 college credits.

Sophomore year, I got A+ certified and gained another 3 credits.

Junior year, we learned Oracle and got certified. Again, 3 credits. I still have NO idea how I'd use this.

Now, I'm learning Java. It used to be a 6 credit course, but that has changed since the budget cuts. I will be taking the certification test later this year.
