If Apple follows the two-week release schedule, we will see iOS 4.2 Beta 4 tomorrow. So will this be the Gold Master?

Highly unlikely. When Apple states a release month, they almost always stick to it. November isn't far off, though.

I would say 2 more beta's then the GM.

My best possible guesses:
October 26 - Beta 4
November 9th - Beta 5
November 16th/23rd - GM Release to Developers
November 23rd/30th - 4.2 Released to Public.

Of course, this is just my personal speculation and opinion. iOS 3.0 had 5 beta's as well.

i dont think there is any reason to have a gm then a public release. it will prob be at the same time.

Except for the fact that it has been that way since the beginning of ios betas and developers. We will have a week or at least a few days of gm before it gets released to the public.

I don't think Apple would release an untested GM to the general public - they have to release it to developers first to make sure they haven't broken anything in preparing it

I thought that beta 4 was supposed to be released yesterday because I haven't heard anything on apple releasing it . Has Apple released it? Or have they skipped it?

There is no set schedule from Apple on when beta versions will be released. However, typically they have released them in two week intervals and yesterday marked two weeks since b3 was released to developers.
