TomTom needs to be put in their place

I hope nobody buys this device, TomTom is just trying to take advantage of iPhone customers (and many of their loyal customers). It is just ridiculous that they would charge $220.00 for their least feature-rich GPS app available--which doesn't even include the hardware! Seriously, even a $100 TomTom ONE includes text-to-speech and a variety of other features, the touchscreen hardware device, and a window/dash mount (so WAY more than the iPhone package)! I lowered my rating on iTunes to one star and I hope more people do the same, I am very unhappy with my purchase especially after seeing the cost they are charging their customers for this mount! I want to make sure that no other customers waste their money on this product, buy Navigon (which has 4 stars) or wait until the Google GPS app comes out for free, either choice is WAY better than TomTom!!!!

Seriously?

I don't understand what all the whining is over the price. If it's too expensive for you, don't buy it. Tom Tom isn't going to care.

I want a $146,000 BMW 760 Li, but I'm not posting on forums on how much it's over priced. I bet there are people on this forum who drop $300 every 2 years on a brand new iPhone.

Flame away my dear friends... :)

Totally agree. Why ANYONE would pay for this is beyond me. Good idea spoiled by greed. If it was a $50 app and another $20 stand, maybe. I still wouldn't do it simply due to the fact that a stand alone unit that doesn't rely on AT&T's crappy network is only $120.

TomTom does not rely on AT&T, it stores all of the maps on your device.

But neither does Navigon, a better choice :D

Its hard to respond to vapor. Someday there may be an actual tomtom kit that is in the hands of an independent reviewer who can find out the details of its quality and function, then there will be something to talk about. I don't understand why there hasn't been a review copy of the product made available to somebody well before now?

Because TomTom FUBAR'ed this entire iPhone product. The App sucks!

you have missed the review. It was posted on YouTube about a week ago when someone in the U.K. got ahold of one from his local Apple store.

Tom Tom DOA

Why worry about the price? With Google's new free GPS the Tom Tom setup is going to be DOA. Google's GPS looks to be the killer app for smartphones and Apple better take note.

Who cares, how did other users get there money back from the app?
