Now apple have allowed turn by turn do you think we'll be seeing any turn by turn app ,be it tomtom/garmin before the 3.0 release with tomtom already having their app ready to go.

I take it they've submitted th app before but its been rejected due to them not allowing turn by turn previous to yesterdays announcement.

here's hoping it'll be release before the 3.0 update this summer.

It'll be after 3.0, I'd have thought. 3.0 is the OS that brings the support/access to Core Location.

Will that mean that people will have to upgrade to 3.0 to use apps created for 3.0? Or is it just 3.0 gives developers more tools to use in creating apps for all levels?

Seems like it. If your OS doesn't support the technologies being used in the app then it can't possibly work. If it was made for 3 using technologies only available in 3, then you'll need 3 to run it.
