My 2008 MacBook has been working fine...except for the past few days.
When I turn it on, it goes to the Apple logo & progress bar. It loads slowly, ( from a pixel a second to a pixel every 15 secs. For the past few days , I have been researching about the problem, and nowone seems to have the same problem. I know all the startup keyboard shortcuts , and have tried every one, and at the right time, but it just goes back to the progress bar, and logo. I have let the progress bar load many times (even overnight) , to wake up and find the bar on 100%.
This morning, I have been placing a meat thermometer (the only one I have) near it's hot air from the fan, and I have seen readings of up to 140 degrees Fahrenheit. Back when it was working fine, it would get pretty warm, but it was working fine, so why check the temperature.! I have restarted it about 23 times so far, each time using a boot keyboard shortcut, to find the same thing. Help!!!!!!
