Too Many Polls?

I don't really see what the big deal is with them, so they don't bother me. I do think though, that over the last few weeks there have been less polls around.

Polls are great, You can get opinions from people, who can't otherwise be bothered submit a comment. or people that post a thread cat can't be bothered to read all the comments made!

I'll blame supermarkets for having "x number of items or less" signs.

can there be a user option to turn off polls so you don't have to see them.
