Hi My 2.66 Ghz Quad Core Mac Pro with 6 gbs of memory has 3.94 gb of memory that is being used and about 650 mb's of free memory. I had Iphoto open as well as a few folders, Itunes, Safari, Mail and Calendar. is that normal for a Mac Pro with 6 gigs of memory? Would adding more memory be necessary. Thanks

Open Activity Monitor.app and you'll see something called "inactive memory". Its memory claimed by a program that isn't being used and its the same as free memory.

While your computer shows 4gb of ram "used", I bet that less than 1/2 of it is actually active.
