iPod touch Too old for iPod?

I'm in my mid forties and, while I don't care for the Angry Birds type games, there are a myriad of reasons why I love my IPT.

Music, as an ereader etc. Plus, it's shiny.

You can't assume people are listening to music, either. My old man's 85 and walks around town every day listening to his ipod, mostly podcasts but the odd string quartet too...
