I just upgraded my ram in my macbook pro, and was gonna sell it to my friend, and then this guy told me this is it true with apple:

You may want to reconsider selling this memory. You will need it incase your new computer needs warranty service. PC manufacturers want the original parts to be installed to fix a broken computer under warranty. If the upgraded memory is causing the problem, there will be a large serivce fee chaged to tell you the after market memory is bad. The little bit of money you will get for the original memoy is not worth the potential problems.

Is this true has anybody need to service the computer with non original ram?

Apple likes to blame problems on 3rd party ram. I would keep the original ram and sawp it out if you ever have a problem. If you don't have AppleCare (it expired), though, then it really doesn't matter.
