So I am loving my 11” Pro and hating it. Since my now sold 9.7” Pro was lacking nothing. With that said. The 2018 iPad Pro 11” and 12.9” are worth while purchases.

Here’s what Apple can Enhance for 2019 iPad Pros

#1. A13X will remain at 7nm but have faster clock speeds. Will remain 8 Cores.
#2. Apple will standardize the 11” and 12.” Sizes
#3. HDR10 and Dolby Vision on the OLED Display
#4. Apple coined the phrase Retina Display, with OLED Displays they will likely make a big deal about Infinite Blacks and how it’s better for Artists and Movies.
#5. Possible under glass Finger print sensor (long shot)
#6. 6GB RAM
#7. Dual Cameras

It’s a rumor site, it’s never too late to speculate! Lol.

Personally, I don’t think we’ll see an iPad Pro in 2019. If Apple keeps to it’s iPad Pro update cycle of a year and a half, we won’t be seeing the next iPad Pro until Spring of 2020.

Having said that, Let me speculate. Lol. I know OLED can’t currently handle the 120 hz refresh rate of promotion. And Apple wants to use microLED anyway. I think that by 2020 microLED might be ready. So I think that will be the big feature that Apple will add. That, and perhaps new colors? More ram? And if Photoshop is coming to the iPad, perhaps Final Cut Pro...finally?

I am going to Agree on the No 2019 iPad Pro. But we do get a surprise A12 8” iPad Mini.

OLED probably. I have the X Max and the screen is something most people would want on an iPad.

I'm pretty sure most would agree. Of course, there's reality (unfortunately) :D

1. No finger print. It would be a waste / redundant now with Face ID - apple don't do waste.
2. No update in 2019.
3. Apple won't just add 6gb and they won't next year if they do. They minimise hardware specs unless absolutely necessary to performance.
4. Probably a small price increase. Apple's device growth is slowing (overall) so they seem to be increasing margin on everything and charging for everything these days to maintain revenue growth. And they are probably smart enough to be preparing for any possible future economic downturn and people buying less stuff.

As i'm buying this year id be glad if they dont do anything next year - I doubt they will. Both iPads look refined / mature products (compared to all other) and the pencil seems perfect now.

Hopefully a mini is coming now :O

And they can always update the iPad 2018. At this point it isn’t like the iPad won’t see updates in 2019, just not the pro range.

There isn’t a lot they can do for the 2018 iPad without potentially eating into the pro range imo, so it could just be the mini.

I don’t see a design change for the iPad so soon after updating the pros. Maybe they hold off on updating it until later 2019 so they don’t have to bother updating the ‘cheap’ range in spring 2020 unlong with the new pros too haha.

So my guess:

Spring 2019: iPad mini
Late 2019: iPad 2019 with potentially new design changes I.e. Face ID, and maybe keep the old iPad 2018 but remove the 10.5” pro.
Spring 2020: new iPad pros

At this point. Now that I have Face ID on my iPad and phone. I think that’s it for me for a while. I know that there will be incremental upgrades each year. But I cannot see anything that comes out. That would make me want to trade up.

6GB RAM and 7nm A13X and new camera module will of course be a part of 4th gen iPad Pro.

To be honest, I think we will first see the new iPads in spring 2020. If we are going to see an OLED display. I can’t imagine right now what else to put inside.

Also on a side note, for everyone in case there is or isn’t a 2019 iPad Pro. An A12X vs A13X wouldn’t be noticeable heck my A9X in the 2016 9.7” did everything the A12X does now. So iPads is definitely worth skipping a year to get a decent upgrade.
I don’t suggest 10.5” Pro owners upgrade at all.

I don’t think we will see a new iPad Pro until. 2020 Agreed. And that’s Done On Purpose by Apple so they Can fool 2018 Buyers into thinking well 2018 to 2020, must be a 2 Year Update. When they never released anything in 2019 they just held off Until Mid March or October 2020.

So in theory my Next iPad Pro purchase should be in late 2021.

Unlikely the next update will be before 2020 March. And most likely it will be 2020 June.

So you agree that your own discussion is pointless and now have changed your mind and claim there won’t be a 2019 model iPad Pro? You move the goal post as it comes into sight.

They need to stop wasting their time on that damn hardware upgrades because it barely benefits the iPad who’s software is still stuck in the Stone Age. They shouldn’t be making any new iPad pros for the next 2 years at least and invest all their time into the OS because it’s still an upscale iPhone with better multitasking and bonus features. Don’t get me wrong I love my iPad and I want the new 11-inch, but it’s still a toy. I don’t want macOS on the iPad, but I want the iOS to be a completely different experience, at least visually on the iPad. Developers are also to blame because they don’t attempt to make their apps resemble the desktop version, which is capable of it now.. we’ve gone from 9.7 to 11-inch and 12.9-inch so theres enough room to replicate the desktop layout for an example google doc which is still a joke on the iPad.

I’m sorry for ranting but I’m so damn angry with apple because they don’t care about their software at all, software is the future.

I like Face ID since notch is not visible on iPads. Plus Face ID is convenient. I think touch thing is gone for good.

They will introduce an iPad Pro 11 and 12.9 2019 (or 2020, most likely), but, yet again, increase the price. To justify this decision, they will add OIS, 6GB ram and even thinner bezels. The iPad Pro 10.5 will remain in store as well.

Lastly, they will introduce an iPad Pro Premium with OLED for 2000+ EUR (starting at 256GB). :D

I love my new pro. Never had an iPad bigger than 9.7 so this 12.9 is amazing.

But I wish the screen was a little better. It’s not horrible but it’s not the greatest either.

What do you mean? It's not OLED, but the screen clearly beats the Tab S4 in e.g. NITS and color accuracy :)

My crystal ball predicts that a new iPad will be coming. Everything else would be just a guess. That is all. ;)

I will say however, if it’s not closer to being a real notebook replacement, I will sit that one out. To darn costly to be anything less.
