took free months trial on iPhone, opened my 2017 iMac and it says free 1 year as 'new iMac'????

very weird.

considering apple one, so took the free months trial on my iPhone but will watch the tv on my iMac or fire stick mainly. opened it on my phone, all fine. opened that Apple TV app on my 2017 iMac, expecting as its the same iCloud account, to see it logged in for my months trial.

instead it says 'enjoy 1 year free' 12 months free then 4.99 a month. your new Mac includes 1 year free of Apple TV+

I bought the iMac in early 2018 from memory...

im thinking I shouldn't press it yet, and enjoy my months trial and then press it then? or what happens if you have a free years trial of tv+ and a month of the rest of the things?

There is a time limit on the 1 year free trial as to when you can activate it. Usually you have 3 months from the time of setting up the qualifying device to activate the trial, after that, the device no longer qualifies. Since you have to login with your AppleID to start the trial, it will have a record of your qualifying devices, so if there are none, it will likely say you don't qualify and ask to start the paid subscription.

the iMac is over 2 years old, the iPhone is about the same, my iPad is ancient and my Apple Watch I doubt counts but that was a repair/replace as its 3 years old and I broke it.

went into my iPhone. when I press on Apple TV+ it says enjoy one year free. when I press it it says 1 year added free. when I go into subscriptions it says im on a month free of apple one. when I open the tv app again it says have a year free. guessing its a bug in the app?

So I couldn’t press it at the time as I had activated the one month trial of Apple one. The minute it finished I was able to activate a one year of tv+ Despite my Mac being 2017. Apple Music gave me three months by following the suggestion. To use Shazam to get it.
