Have you seen and tried out the new features, which were described in this article?I installed 14.2 and did not notice anything different. Might as well not bother.

Make Aqua great again 😂And the post-aqua interface turns 9 years old year. Come on, Apple.
Not all, and that's the problem. The same reason Journal is not on iPad either. All the data on the Mac gets synced to iCloud.
It’ll be SUPER AWESOME *screech, flicks hair*I''l wait for iJustine's review
100% agree its the Apple gravy train, with hardware ready months and month before the software, and then the train starts all over again. Some of these updates to Mac OS are so pathetic that it proves the point we just don’t need yearly refresh cycles of the OS. Furthermore that features promised do not ship in the OS highlight this even more.
I know right? The "ecosystem".For me, the biggest improvement this update has brought is the Touch ID on my Magic Keyboard is finally working again without having to leave the keyboard plugged in all the time!
It may well stop again but for now I’m going to enjoy using an expensive accessory working reliably for the first time in about a year
I think all 4 of the macOS developers were poached to work on iOS about 7 years ago. Now they just get on with macOS in their lunch break.Ouch. So basically, you mean what is now old on iOS.
I miss the days when the Mac was its own operating system and not second fiddle to iOS.
Yea, likely Craig's son fiddling with Figma, while the UX team is on PTO.I had never seen the Clock app on macOS before but it's kinda funny. To me this looks like a first draft when laying out a UI in a form designer:

Well, to be fair, this type of updates on macOS usually never came with any new features at all. It was usually bug and security fixes, stability improvements, and some minor graphics driver tweak. At least this time we have more widgets or the new multiple timer. It feels sad that these things are the major features of a new update of a major operating system.
Still, we can’t expect a whole new overhaul every year.
You don’t need to be scared. If you make a back up (manually or Time Machine) of your important stuff, you can install the latest Sonoma version, and if you encounter any issue, erase the drive and go back to macOS 13.3I've stayed on Ventura 13.3, scared to upgrade because of the various problems people have reported (like flickering, disconnecting after sleep, etc.) with LG monitors attached via USB-C. I have an LG 27UP850-W on my M2 Pro Mac mini and I wonder if it's safe yet?

What are they supposed to do? Update the OS without any way to differentiate it from the previous version? Great way to create confusion among usersIt's interesting how these small app updates count as OS update. Meh.
I hardly ever use a regular timer/coundtown on my Mac but in my opinion some kind of Pomodoro/interval feature would be really useful.
Nikon Camera Control Pro 2 is broken too.Top features also include :
Broken USB tethering for photographers using Lightroom and Capture One
Bug in Scroller SDK which renders some applications unusable
but a part from that it’s a success 🙄
I actually needed a timer on my Mac recently, and I bought an app from the MacAppStore that allows you to time 15 minutes and other multiples, but not smaller fractions of time.Ironically this is part of the Microsoft Clock app on Windows. My how the tables have turned, now it’s Windows shipping with built-in software beyond the bare minimum. Sarcasm, but seems to be moving that direction.
Yes it is pretty clunky. It's a reminder / tracker, not an app window you have to work in. Even when dragged to its smallest size it's too big.I had never seen the Clock app on macOS before but it's kinda funny. To me this looks like a first draft when laying out a UI in a form designer:
