Top Sites Icon in Favorites Bar, Remove?

    This issue has been around since 10.9 (maybe even before)...

    Has anyone yet divined how to remove the "Top Sites" icon from the Favorites Bar?

    Parenthetically, I find it odd that Apple uses the same icon in System Preferences, but there it is named "Show App Preferences". :eek:

    Right click on the toolbar > Customize Toolbar > Drag the top sites icon out of the toolbar

    that never worked...the top sites icon is NOT in the toolbar, it's in the favorites bar...and seems krazy-glued in place.

    Oh that icon. Dang, seems you can have it in the toolbar and the favorites bar. That is annoying.

    Also, just wondering, why did you use the term "parenthetically" in your first post?
