I also have max spec.
I use my system mainly for video editing with FCPX.

When rendering, the highest I have ever noted my temps is with the GPU Diode, which reached 70c. The fans do a great job of bringing it down to around the 60c mark pretty quickly.
While rendering all other temps stay in the 60c mark.

Do you feel any differences between 650m and 750m?

the only games i've run on it are diablo 3 (mac) and outlast (pc). The 750m seems more capable at higher resolutions, with less stuttering but noticeable tearing sometimes (even with vsync set).

I'll be installing most of my games on steam/win7 in the next week including skyrim, gtaiv, portal 2 to name a few and will return back with results!

How noisy does it get while you are rendering? Annoyingly noisy or still pretty silent?

No it's not silent. Bear in mind I don't game so the most taxing task I complete is rendering. At 70c the fans crank up to around 5200 so naturally you do hear them - luckily I have never heard them otherwise - ie not while editing etc - only at the final render.
Not sure on temps to expect when gaming but I wouldn't want that fan noise while gaming - get yourself a decent headset!

The palmrest area doesn't get hot. It's warm to the touch, but a pleasant warm - not hot at all. The underside of the system also gets warm - warmer then the palmrest, but again not uncomfortably hot.

What I have noticed is that by raising the laptop slightly - about 1cm or so - the temps are lower by a good few degrees. I just placed a DVD case in the middle and sat the laptop on top and noticed a decline in max temps when rendering.
Not sure if it was a one off but I'll test again as I'm starting another new project this week ;)

Can you see or feel a difference with 16 gb ram vs your previous rMBP 8 gb?
Thank you :)

Thought I'd throw in some benchmarks.

Unigine Heven 4.0

Settings:

Render: OpenGL
Mode: 1440x900 2xAA fullscreen
Preset Custom
Quality Medium
Tessellation: Disabled

Nvidia 750M

FPS: 26.3
Score: 664
Min FPS: 10.0
Max FPS: 48.5

Intel Iris Pro

FPS: 20.8
Score: 524
Min FPS: 8.8
Max FPS: 33.8

For what is worth. The image quality of the 750M was far better than the Iris, so FPS is not everything.

Do you notice throttling in extreme use scenarios and if so after how long? At what point does it stop consuming from the battery while plugged in if under heavy load?
