Are they lighting the world on fire with display sales? Considering the difference between the display and the 27 iMac and one will be completely underwhelmed.

The 24 iMac is actually 23.5 so we are talking about a more than a 15% decrease compared to the 27 iMac. Even in the scary event they tried to zoom into the 23.5 iMac to make the appearance that’s it’s huge, it’s clearly not.

I will gladly pay for a 27+ iMac, I have no intention at all to get the studio display which in all honestly is underwhelming for its price, and beyond disappointing compared to the 27 iMac display.
I agree. A 30” iMac would be great. And the 27” Cinema Display should be $999 at the very VERY most.
Samsung has a 32” 4k display that looks very much like the Cinema Display and does so much more. And it sells for $450.00 on sale.
Apple has it severely overpriced.
I would pay $1599 for a base M3 base larger iMac. I really feel like apple is out of touch with its whole pricing objectives.
Apples advancements over other chips manufactures as slowly vanishing. We’re going to have Hackintosh’s with apple silicon macOS flavors within the next few years.

Continuing to price things as high as they are is just going to continue the current sales slump.

If the 15” M3 Air is available in Space Back will you upgrade, or is this more of a theoretical goalpost for Apple to hit?
Well, for me to actually upgrade sooner than I currently envision, would require:
- Double the battery life of the 16" M1 Pro MBP.
- 16+" screen, MBA thickness, no fan, and base M chip with at least 32GB RAM.
- Space Black.
- A huge price reduction on the absolute p*ss take that Apple applies to their RAM/SSD upgrades.
- A price reduction on the base models, rather than price increases.

However, TBH, with the performance and usability of my current 16" M1 Pro MBP, even all that wouldn't get me to upgrade right now, but it would get me to upgrade sooner.

To get me to upgrade my son's 2014 MBA, would simply require:
- A price reduction on the base models, rather than price increases.
- A huge price reduction on the absolute p*ss take that Apple applies to their RAM/SSD upgrades.

Basically, I'd get him a 13" M3 MBA with 16GB/1TB for his next birthday if it wasn't for the price tag it comes with, especially due to the ridiculous prices for the RAM/SSD upgrades.

I can't see either of those happening, so my machine isn't likely to be upgraded for years, and my son will make do with his current MBA until it dies, or maybe I pick him up a 2nd hand M2+ version one day, assuming I can find one with at least 16GB/1TB, which won't be easy, as most people get the base model. Otherwise he sticks with his gaming PC and his iPhone. So it is actually possible that this is my son's last ever Mac.

AFAICT, nobody mentioned the advertisement that AAPL made for the Touch Bar. Now that the Touch Bar is gone, can we watch the William Tell commercial one last time? Thanks!

This is exactly all the things that were wrong with the Touch Bar. This commercial was the most effort they ever put into it after its initial release. And the entire thing spends a very confusing 45 seconds and then shows about five seconds or less of the actual Touch Bar. Apple never knew what to do with it, kept its availability too limited, and basically just never committed to it. It’s one of the most Google things they’ve done. Almost felt like they threw it against the wall to see if it would stick.
