I used have Surface with kick stand and fact, that iPad doesn’t have integrated stand is a big dissadvantage and when I was considering switching from Surface to iPad kickstand was one of the biggest issues.
iPad is great, but missing integrated stand is probably the biggest con for me...

Microsoft Says Surface Pro 7 is 'Better Choice' Than iPad Pro

what a surprise 😂😂😂

I do have a iMac (2013). Waiting for a coming Lenovo Thinkpad with or for Linux (ubuntu/debian) and a 16" (or maybe bigger) MBP with M1 processor.

Media works with apple, internet with linux. No ******* way i ever go back to windows.

Ironic how they make the picture of the large iMac look like a giant iPad.

Thats truly where the Mac seems to be headed with ARM processors.

A Mac OS that looks more like iPadOS and Mac hardware that resembles an iPad.

LOVELY.

Not everybody, myself included wants our computer desktop to look like an iphone or iPad.
I'm guessing that is where the Mac mini comes in.

I love how APPLE forces it's designs down APPLE users throats and does not allow any desktop modifications

I came to peace with this around 2016, after raging against it for 4 years prior when they killed the cMBPs.

Both Windows and Android you can run 3rd party software to make your computer desktop or phone to your liking

I may just fully convert to LINUX. It's FREE. Its safer than Mac or Windows and its fully customizable.
Aside from software compatibility, there is no reason why you shouldn't do this. But be aware that you will be your own tech support for both hardware and software issues.

I'm a a point in my life where my professional and personal computing are distinct: I use a work-issued PC and at home an iPad suffices for things requiring a bigger-than-iPhone screen.

Hoping for a Mac Mini Pro and a 30 inch Cinema Display, fingers crossed.
Yes, please let's all hope for a Mac Mini Pro, with lots of ports and all-day battery/ups, and a variety of new display options, some portable battery powered. Tell Apple we are sick of choosing between performance and portability, sick of spending $2000 on a laptop that can't be used because of loud fans and cables.

Connecting a display with a Thunderbolt cable is as fast as a display in an all-in-one, right?

you can make you desktop anything you want. It has many chices and it allows you to use images of you own making. Make an image you like and then use it as the desktop. or find an image and save it to your machine,

Didn't think about that, it should indeed be easy to keep the Mac mini running on an emergency UPS Battery.
