carplay is done by emulator developers who never drive cars. look at the bottom bar which has icons of open apps:
  • at the bottom only 3 apps are shown and usually no matter what you use apple always put the phone app there leaving only 2 icons for switching between apps you use.
  • even though the screen is gigantic still they manage to put buttons as small as possible, that's difficult to use while driving.
  • the bottom app icons are so close to each other and tiny, almost impossible to click the one you need while driving. cant they put some padding to them. even spotify buttons are far more spacious.
pretty distracting when you actually use it. especially on long commutes.

My built in infotainment crashes....i have just dials for gas and speed so thats not a problem but the carmakers struggle with the very simple systems they have.
That doesn't sound good. I have a BMW G30 pre-LCI with full digital cockpit and the standard iDrive (6). It's only once crashed in over 5 years of ownership...

Would be nice for me whoever they partner up with next goes with Visa instead of MasterCard.
Costco doesn't like MC.

Mildly curious how the Savings Account & the Cash balances will transition

I very much like Apple Pay

I love CarPlay and believe it’s the defining standard for car infotainment, but it does crash, and often goes wrong, so I would never want to trust it against my regular car systems.

Imagine your car dash crashing and you can’t check your speed, or fuel, not being able to set your climate controls!!

No thanks. Apple, stick to nav and infotainment.
I had an experience like this on a hire car with a built-in smart display (my charge cable frayed and shorted the USB bus, which killed the main display). I lost navigation, custom readouts etc (which was inconvenient since I was on a main road at speed and didn't know where to go), but the system defaulted to a minimal mode that showed speed and some other functions. Many modern car instrument displays now seem to be virtual (no needles or dials), so I'm expecting this to be a standard requirement across the industry

Yes but they are graphically pleasing which is a high priority feature to Apple fanboys.

The 7th gen iPad AppleMusic app is still broken (freezes), even after several updates since 17.1 - anyone else having this issue ?
