I had a iPad mini 5 and was strongly considering upgrading to the new rumored iPad mini. However, I ended up getting the iPad Pro 11 recently and I am glad I did, versus waiting on another smaller screen.

Good luck to the iPad mini hold outs.

I do miss Steve Jobs. I recall times when I would take an Apple product to an Apple store that was outside of the AppleCare period by 6~8 months, and they would fix it without a charge. Apple achieved its esteemed reputation of excellence, together with a much higher quality standard. You paid a lot, but you received a lot in return. The customer service was truly exceptional, and the attitude of employees was outstanding. With Tim Cook, it's all about profit with lower standards across the board; watered-down product features, co-pays, and nickel n' dime on everything. ✌

Amen Dude.

I miss Steve Jobs. And so do Apple.

Glad to see NY Times go. It had become too one-sided these past few years. I miss the old days of a mainstream newspaper.

Old fashioned investigative journalism vs yellow journalism?

Looking from the outside at US journalism, the 'one sided' bias seems bizarre. Even if you don't like someone, at least present both sides of the 'facts.' (Which largely depend on a point of view, it seems...)

eg. 'It's a largely peaceful demonstration here...' (*scene of burning building in the background.)

The trust in the 'mainstream' media seems to be at an all time low. Owned by rich people who seem to be peddling their own agenda...

Owners of the landmark 15-inch notebook will find that Apple is no longer offering service on the machines for any reason, so if you find yourself in need of a new battery or other repair, you'll need to look for an unofficial repair option or go the do-it-yourself route.

That’s not true.
Apple’s own support website still lists the out of warranty battery replacement cost for the 15” Retina MBP. It also lists the cost to replace the battery in the Vintage 17” MBP.

I’ve also talked to two different apple service representatives that said the battery in my 2013 MacBook Air can still be replaced even though it’s listed as vintage.

Here is Apples support page about battery replacements:

I hate their website. Every time I go there from and article I see on twitter, they want me to pay money and everything is being a paywall. I'd rather have one subscription or place for my news. Not that they care, really, but oh well. haha

Such a downer that the new iPhone's don't have USB-C - I hoped they'd surprise us even though leaks indicated lightning continuity

My iPhone X is getting pretty stale, can't sync photos over wi-fi by design, it's too cumbersome to connect it to the computer via usb-c to usb-a then usb-a to lightning, all for an abysmal syncing experience

With the removal of the adapter, USB-C would make more sense too, we could use our Macbook charging bricks that in theory uses PD protocol to deliver what's needed to devices

I’m looking forward to the 8.5” iPad mini 6th generation, but I don’t think I’ll buy it unless it’s basically a larger iPhone 11 with FaceID, smaller bezels, A13 or A14 and 4GB of RAM.

Guys don't buy them all please, I could use a nice monitor too :/
