Apple advertises that the M1 series are AI compatible but fail to mention what memory size will allow best performance from that series CPU chip.

Yeah, that's definitely a bit evasive and shady

I feel bad for unsuspecting 8GB RAM buyers (so so SO many normal buyers/users) who will have their machines getting bogged down trying to do mail and message summaries (among other things)
 
AI was not started last week.

Apple has known for years that the base memory for AI should be 16GB. So their devilish plan was to saturate their customer base with under powered machines in terms of memory for the future sales of new systems. Those that have bought recent 8GB ram machines must feel shafted.
