You are not even right about what the item you linked to says. It does not say the Mac Pro will have an M4 Pro. It says:I found this who said the Mac Pro will have the M4 Pro : https://www.macrumors.com/2025/02/24/mac-pro-after-m4-ultra/
Thanks for the citation. But at the time of that article, the assumption was both the Mac Pro and Mac Studio would be receiving the M4 Ultra (https://www.macrumors.com/2024/10/07/m4-mac-studio-m4-mac-pro-2025/). Now that the M3 Ultra Mac Studio has been released, it consequently calls into question what the Mac Pro will have as well. So far I haven’t seen any rumors that the Mac Pro would be getting the M4 Ultra to differentiate it from the Studio, as you stated in post#13.I found this who said the Mac Pro will have the M4 Pro : https://www.macrumors.com/2025/02/24/mac-pro-after-m4-ultra/
Why would I look for something that I have no reason to believe exists? It would be futile to try to disprove every unsupported claim every person makes. The onus for proof is on whoever wants to convince the other person. If no one wants to convince anyone then no proof is needed. But lack of evidence will be called out for the sake of those who believe statements at face value. You know why don’t you go look for it yourself. When people say prove it I’m like go find it yourself.
I assume the poster meant to say M4 Ultra, not Pro.You are not even right about what the item you linked to says. It does not say the Mac Pro will have an M4 Pro. It says:
... the next Mac Pro will skip the M3 series. Instead it will be equipped with the highest-end version of the M4 chip, codenamed "Hidra." Based on the description of the chip, it could be positioned as an "Ultra" or "Extreme" chip. Gurman has said the M4 Ultra chip in the next Mac Pro will "probably" have up to a 32-core CPU and up to an 80-core GPU, which would be double the M4 Max's up to 16-core CPU and up to 40-core GPU. It could also support up to 512GB of memory, a notable increase over the current 192GB limit.
In 10 years from now, you laugh at the performance in your computers today. Probably your phone will have more performance than todays Mac Pro.I wonder if we aren’t approaching the maximum performance limit ?
Still doesn’t remove the possibility for the Mac Pro to have M4 ultra… we will seeThanks for the citation. Ok but what we will do with all this performance ?In 10 years from now, you laugh at the performance in your computers today. Probably your phone will have more performance than todays Mac Pro.
It will become a real assistant that can handle things would have to use an expensive workstation for today.Ok but what we will do with all this performance ?
The studio display is a way smarter choice than the iMac. Your locked into the computer that comes with an iMac, if it dies your display is is a pile of junk.I hope we get an updated Studio Display soon.
People keep saying this despite all the still functioning iMacs still working out there, replaced only when they’re sufficiently creaky to warrant replacement. The studio display is a way smarter choice than the iMac. It wasn’t me directly but some one close to me had his die and Apple would not fix it. The computer was the problem. The display was still great. Now it only good for scrap. Be my guest to take that chance. Personally get just the display and buy a Mac mini. Now you have a display that will last a very long time, and you can upgrade the computer anytime you want.People keep saying this despite all the still functioning iMacs still working out there, replaced only when they’re sufficiently creaky to warrant replacement.
Good for you, not everyone has had that good luck. I am entitled to express my opinion along with you. I am starting see this forum is toxic, people express opinions and somehow need to prove what they say, and there is a lot snobbish people who need to argue for the sake of arguing.I’m on my third iMac and none of the previous ones died, they just got old.
Don’t mean to argue. I also sell these things. Majority of the people coming in to replace their old iMacs are because their OS is no longer upgradable and the machines have gotten slow.Good for you, not everyone has had that good luck.
