You don't have the choice to extend any contract you might already have to get it cheaper? That's what I'm doing most likely...

Live in Greece bud, so its not an option for me. Im going to have my cousin pick up one for me, and ship it to me. Its really the only way.

^ ^ ^ THIS ^ ^ ^ finally answers what I was asking in the OP. Thank you! @bchreng so the software "OIS" on the 6S does a good enough job?

The OIS is software instead of hardware based? I always thought the 0, as in "optical" meant that it was hardware based.

It's software-based for the 6s and hardware-based for the 6s+.

Those saying the cameras are the same on the 6s and s plus are completely wrong!

I had both the 6 and plus models and I returned my 6 last year for a plus and saw the difference right away in so many ways. And yes 1080p was noticeable. People saying these thing won't be noticeable are in dinial and just trying to pacify.

Bottom line, the plus has better features and while not light years better, they are still better and noticeable IMO.

Personally, I chose the 6s+ over the 6s for a couple of reasons

1. Battery life is supposedly better with the plus
2. Camera and OIS!
3. I do a lot of homework and research for my classes, so having the bigger screen is a plus (pun intended) for me. There are those times that I don't feel like taking out my laptop or I just need to look something up quickly. My Droid Turbo has a 5.2in screen, so when I played with the 6/6+ in the store the other day, the 4.7in was a huge downgrade for me. It was so weird to hold a "tiny" phone. The 6+ felt more natural, as 5.2 is only .3 away from 5.5, rather than the .5 it is going down to the 6/6s. I also think a bigger phone is easier to hold when you're talking on the phone. Your hand isn't as scrunched up and its way more comfortable.

Again, it's up to you and what will best suit your needs. If you watch a lot of videos, do homework/research/reading, take lots of pictures, etc., then I'd head for the 6s+

I agree with you on this. I had the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus for the past year, and side by side, the screen on my Plus was definitely the better of the two. Also, pictures were better on the Plus as well. Doing comparison pics with both phones, you could absolutely tell that the pictures taken with the 6 Plus looked much nicer than the ones taken with the 6. Better screen quality, longer battery life, and better picture/video quality, made my decision to stick with the Plus size much easier. In the whole year that I've had the 6 Plus I can only think of one or two times where the smaller 6 would have fit better in my pocket for those situations. Other than work, my 6 Plus wasn't in my pockets that much anyway.

Yeah so I ended up waiting in line all day on launch day (Sept 25) and I got a Space Gray 64 GB 6S non plus. As I stated earlier in this thread, I previously was using a Nexus 5 of which had a 4.96" screen (marketed as a 5") so me getting the 6S and its 4.7" screen wasn't a huge downgrade for me (The lack of a 1080p display on the same kind of ~5" panel doesn't bother me either). I quite enjoy using it, and I was able to adjust to it super fast. I did consider using the 6S for the two week return period/window and then get a 6S+ for that same time period, but I think I'll stick with what I have. It works for me. It takes great pics, video looks great on it etc. I love it. Thanks to all for all the advice and feedback based on what I had said in the original post. Much appreciated. :)

Get the 6s
the plus is to to to big also OIS doesnt make much difference, it lasts all day better in your hand feels better to carry less heavy!

Just don't start using the 6s+ for a few hours after using your 6s. You will start noticing the resolution difference when you go back. The text will start looking rough on the 6s, as the fonts are way smoother on the 6s+... The 1080p does make a difference.

I went back and forth last year between the 6 and 6+ and finally settled on the 6+. It was hard to transition from a 5s to 6+ but the transition from 5s --> 6 --> 6+ was much easier. ;) You'll start feeling the heavier weight in your pocket but after a week you don't notice it anymore.

Maybe a few months down the road you will decide the bigger 6s+ is the one for you. I definitely am not going for a smaller screen again unless the battery life is as good.

I've been getting excellent battery life for how I'm using my 6S so far... I use it paired to a small BlueTooth speaker for playing music whilst working overnight, and I usually have around 45% left by the end of my 8h shift. Granted, most people would be using it nonstop, but I can't be using it under store cameras too much, as it is a customer service taboo.

If the increased battery life and pixel density and slightly better camera is not a big deal to you, then you have made the correct decision for yourself. Otherwise you'll feel burdened by the big size and weight + cost.

Yeah as I've said a few times already, I had a phone basically the same size (though the Nexus 5 had a 1080p display) so using an ever so slightly smaller display is no big deal.

No camera phone has optical zoom (unless you count this monstrosity as one of the 'phones').

Optical zoom may be helpful if you're taking videos on bumpy rides or while skateboarding. The downside of OIS is: it makes the phone heavier and sometimes you see the 'Jello' effect caused by the OIS module (I speak generally for all phones, not pinpointing any phones).

I have a 6s and I used my friends 6s Plus yesterday and the OIS doesn't make that big of a difference really. However I only compared photos not video. I do love the bigger screen and the battery life of the Plus better though. Both fit in my pocket nicely. I'm happy with my 6s but if I had to do it again I'd get the Plus.

I played with both yesterday at the Apple Store. 6s for me. One handed is a must personally.
