I'm considering the Momentus XT too even though I already have a regular 500GB HDD. Want to find more benchmarks though.

Benchmarks are around the web. My general overview, after looking at several reviews/benchmarks are:

1) If you're running an app you run daily, it will start up faster, including booting up, like a slow SSD
2) It outperforms regular 7200rpm hard drives and, in some cases, brings it closer to the perfrormance of a 10Krpm hard drive
3) Some tasks it will outperform a 10K rpm HDD
4) Random data tasks, such as database operations, are not improved
5) Sequential writes are not improved, think movie conversion
5) Is only worth it if you want a faster drive than a 7200rpm with large storage space, but don't want to pay for an SSD

With that said, I ordered one, yesterday, and am looking forward to installing it!
