I sold my air to get the air 2 but I was expecting a bigger upgrade from the air 2 end. Still no splitscreen or 2 gb ram confirmation...

And also with the new prices the mini 2 now seems to be a pretty good deal.

I've had a non retina mini before, it was my fist ipad and I loved it due to it being so light my hands could almost not feel the weight.

but it is also true that I've probably gone used to the air's display size by now.

Between a 32 gb mini 2 and a ipad air 2 64gb which would you choose?

Air 2. If you get the mini 2, you would've sold your Air1 in vain. Essentially what you'd be doing is getting the same device with the same processor as your old Air1, only now with a smaller screen with the mini 2.

Pretty sure that's not what you wanted to do.

At least with the Air 2, it's an actual UPGRADE from your Air1 (much thinner, better display, faster processor, Touch ID)

Either you're a big tablet or a small tablet person.

Not quite so cut and dry as that. Some, like me, have both. I couldn't imagine lugging the Air with me wherever I go. Conversely, I rarely watch movies or look at photos on the Mini. Too small.

just impulse bought the 32gb mini 2 and already thinking about returning it. Coming from a 3rd gen ipad, the screen is hard to get used to. I have to hold the mini much closed to my face to read the time and battery status up top. Not sure what to do. May return for the air 2

do it!

You pose a very hard question. I would love to have the iPad air 2, however I am a man and the mini fits in my back pocket. Portability is my reason for choosing the mini over the air. The rMini 2 is a worthy device for sure. And the savings is enough to go for the Mini IF portability is needed.

Get an iPad Air 2. Because mini 3 uses same old hardware like A7 chip instead of A8. Nobody want same old hardwares inside new mini 3.

When the Mini first came out, I rocked both the Air and the Mini for a couple of weeks. The Mini is more portable for sure, but I always ended up grabbing the Air. The bigger screen was just nicer. I didn't see any advantage in carrying the Mini, since neither fit in my pocket, so I would have to carry both in a sleeve so no real advantage there FOR ME. So I returned the Mini.

I also would hesitate not getting the latest hardware. I like to play games that usually push the iPad to its limits.
