    IMAGE of this thing.

This is pretty cool, although it costs a bit much.

Only $563 billion? That's not much! Not even an entire bailout (erm... stimulus) package!

I can imagine clothes hanging from the lines to the centre column.

^^^It would be cool if this space stationwas so big that different sections of the craft evolved differently from the rest based on the culture of the people who lived there. We could even have a space ghetto.

I wonder if this is how much it would actually cost. If they could build something like this today with $563 billion, then the US government probably wasted their money. They should have put it all in this thing.

Eh, if NASA built this it would fail. Canada uses the metric system, and historically NASA has had problems with that.

Interesting how he took the concept from the Battle School in Ender's Game (by Orson Scott Card) and basically expanded on it.

    Neat design.

Hope that we focus on space more. Seems like it's an after thought these days.

very interesting proposal, pretty impressive for an high-schooler.
i think he forgot one aspect though. He includes gyms, parks, movie theaters and other recreational activities, which is great, but there is no mention of even a single restaurant or any kind of any retail store activity. where are people going to get "stuff" and food?

it's a permanent settlement of 10,000 people of all ages, basically a small town. People would want/need access to some variety of goods.

^^^And while he's at it, he should have touched on the subject of marijuana and gay marriage. ;)

It's a Canadian-designed facility: hydroponics and tolerance built in! But where are the Tim Hortons?

Is your location a send out to the OWG or CWG?
