I noticed that as well... It was reporting my download perfectly...

I came back when I was seeding and it said "Transmission is not allowed here. Please use another client."

Well, it was nice while it lasted....what was that, like, 8 days....?

Well, I'm not going back to AZ, I'll stick with Mainline I guess...🙁

Is Mainline good? As in a good client, just missing all the features of AZ? Because it works a lot better on my system..

Or is it a bad one too...?
 
I used Transmission one time. I got incredible speeds from only one seed. The next day I couldn't use it.

Its not just most of it has to do with the torrent some torrents I can get as a high as 500kB/s with Azureus. I even have a screen shot of it here. I cropped the screen shot it save space.

I use Azureus as my main BT client, but also have Transmission installed for when I'm on the road and need to download a torrent to my HD. Azureus is configured to download everything to an external drive, and sometimes I have a download in progress, so it can be a bit of a pain. Or I'm lazy. 😀
 
I use transmission, I tried downloading azureus but I couldn't get it to work for some reason on my MPB. I'm going to have to give it another shot after reading all this. Back when I used to use windows I used azureus.

Edit: I just tried running it again, two bounces and then it closes. Any ideas why?

Are you trying to run it on a intel mac?

It seems like most people are wild about Azureus and some people are really hating on Tomato Torrent.

Azureus is cool, until you realize that (for most people), the purpose of a bittorrent client is not to sit there and stare at all the changing numbers and graphs. It's bloated as hell, and while it has nice features, it clogs up your computer quite readily. Nice idea, too much bloat (for my taste). It's an awesome program if you enjoy sitting and watching your torrents download.

Tomato torrent is as unbloated as they get. It's lighter on the CPU than the legit BitTorrent client (I've tested it), and it's very sleek and pared down, with a simple aqua interface. On good torrents it will quickly max out my connection (300kb/s or so). If you download in the background go Tomato.
 
i think you be confusing tomato with transmission 🙂
tomato's fine, it builds on top of the existing bittorrent core for OS X.
Transmission doesn't and that's the whole...thing..
 
I'm using the new Bit Torrent download option in Opera 9 right now, I have to say it's nice..

It opens a new torrent in a tab, and allows you to surf the net in another tab..but the thing I'm happy with, is I'm not noticing a big slow down in web surfing...that's great IMO..

I was just looking into the darwine project, and utorrent is supported by it. Has anyone found out how well utorrent runs on the intel macs? How slow is it? How much RAM does it take up?(via darwine) I am going to try it in my PowerPC if I can get darwine working. 😀
 
Does anyone know how to run Azureus in headless mode? Apparently, you can run it in the background and just use a web browser to look at the process. I tried but I couldn't get it to work.

Perhaps this means that it would be possible to design a native Mac GUI in Objective-C that just queried the Azureus process? Possibly even have a widget.
