That is pretty ugly, but not as ugly as the pink Gateway laptop that is supposed to be in Legally Blonde 2.

LoL .. I would actually have to say that they're about tied. At least the Gateway matches the rest of the movie's motif .. [edit: oh man .. did I just say that .. I must really be tired]

That's done for function, not looks. The keyboard has a numeric keypad on the right side, so the trackpad is located centered on the rest of the keyboard.

Something apple should have done with that extra space on the 17"...

Not to mention 2 mouse buttons next to the track pad... so you don't have to reach half a mile for the keyboard like on the 17" powerbook to get two mouse button functionality.

The took all the windoze world's requirements into consideration.

1. Needs to be thicker
2. Needs to be a black box
3. Needs to be as heavy as a cow
4. Needs to have practically useless hardware
5. Can't Utilize the latest technology (Bluetooth, 802.11g, DVD Burner)
6. A crappy operation system

I can't remember anymore of the requirements right now...

A numeric keypad is not a bad idea but if you have to offset the keyboard it makes it very hard to use. There must be a better way to put a keypad on a laptop. But since apple has not come up with it yet maybe ther is not.
