    Aloha!

Before I go out and buy another pricey TOSLink cable to test this out, I have a question.

I have a MacPro and my poor Bose speakers are starting to die. (Headphone jack not always recognizing that I've removed the headphones, left speaker cutting out), so I'm considering getting another set of speakers and am thinking about going 5.1. However, most 5.1 options only have 1 Optical audio port on it. I run my Xbox 360 off my monitor (VGA port), and thus would have two Optical Audio sources.

    So, my question is...

There is a Optical Audio in and Optical Audio out on the mac pro. Would it be possible to run my 360 audio cable into the Optical Audio in and have it pass through to the optical audio out that goes to the speakers. So, the Mac and 360 would both play off that line?
