Total freeze on iMovie

I was using my Mini today, one week into ownership and experienced a full freeze up of the system when exporting a 19 second 1080p video.

I heard wide reports of the non-smooth skimming in the editor, due to the lack of graphics and I got that - no issue, but my older MacBook Pro's never struggled whatsoever like this?

I thought the 6-core model was supposed to excel in tasks like this.

Anybody else had the same experience?

I exported 50 or more 20-30 minute videos out of eyetv using .mov h.264 without issue.

This is not normal. My bet is that it was a one-off; either that or a problem with your settings or file.

Also, I have not had any problems with the integral graphics when using Final Cut Pro for basic editing of 1080p video.

Could the issue be my iMovie files or my OS installation or a hardware issue?

I do wonder what I can do to solve this, it happens each time I use iMovie

If this is happening with more than the one file, I’d try deleting and reinstalling iMovie.
