Well, all humor aside, the total gym is actually a decent machine for the home user. The one thing that you--as well as everyone else needs to know is that there is never a "total" anything. No machine will ever give you the entire workout that your body needs/deserves. This will certainly get you a good workout, it'll provide the resistance training you need, but you also want to get your metabolism up and cardio is extremely important for this. Between cardio and resistance training you will be lean and tone. Just remember, that if you want to be cut and bulky you need to use more weights. If you want lean and tone use less and be consistent. If your body can do 150# then you should do 75#. Be consistent, work in circuits some days, others just do cardio. Mix it up and keep it up. If you can do 30 minutes a day 7 days a week that is awesome. Most people get 4-5 days in though. Finally, you would want to make sure you're getting the right foods in you to help with your metabolism.
I am moving, if I weren't I'd get that total gym and ride my bike. I find it easier to work out at home rather than the gym right now. However, my new place as a 24 hour fitness center and I intend to use it.
