Just got my first mac today...'09 imac 24". Its fricking sweet.. But one thing Im used to with Windows was to use the Home/End keyboard buttons to get to the beggining/end of a line. They dont seem to do anything on the mac.

To a lifetime Mac user, the default home and end key behavior is normal and so it does not bother us that home and end don't act like Windows (we don't know any better!) and there are other ways to do the same thing on a Mac. For example:

Use CMD-Left arrow to go to the beginning of a line.
Use CMD-Right arrow to go to the end of a line.

Here are some keyboard combos and what they do. Handy to get to know.

Nice. Thanks for the great info. I can switch to using the command+arrow without issue. Now the question is, what is home/end used for on a mac?
