WOOOOOOO

Got my Brand new 24" iMac yesterday with Snow Leopard Pre-Installed and i think its incredible! 2.66Ghz, 4GB Memory, 1TB Hard drive, Time Machine works amazing too.

Been reading alot about other peoples issues, bashing and moaning about it but i think its fantastic.

Im an Ad Designer and i work on 10.5 which is still brilliant but the superspeedy response im getting from my new machine is like nothing i have ever seen. (Sorry for the Rhyme there).

SL and my iMac = Dreamteam.

Oh...Sorry,

For some reason, I thought this thread was about me... :p

Me too, thats why I clicked on the link ;)

I agree with he OP, Snow Leopard is rock solid and super fast on my macbook. I can only imagine what its going to be like when developers take advantage of using things OPen CL etc. Its only going to get quicker.

Good to her some great experiences. Too many people on here having a moan, usually about petty things.

How did you find the purchasing experience, followed by the getting it home and setting it up?

What's your history? Are you a long time PC person and just converted, or was you a Mac user anyway and upgraded?

Purchasing was ok but OMG did i have a long delivery. (Felt long anyway). Ordered it on the 1st so i would get the Snow Leopard drop in disc. Machine stayed at the Apple HQ and wasn't dispatched until the Friday 4th, expected it on the Monday, nothing, Tuesday, Nothing but finally Wednesday was perfect.

It was exactly 1 year me being in my Job (Which i work on a 24" iMac) Fell in love with the machine and made it my year goal to save up and get one for myself.

Before this job i was always PC (Which was very annoying as im sure you all understand) but now i will NEVER go back to PC.

Setup took a total of about 25mins from opening the Box to being ready for first command as Snow Leopard was pre-installed (i imagine this is the reason for the slow dispatch from Apple HQ) i set up Time Machine immediately and then installed the CS4 software Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator etc. Then installed iWorks 09. Never seen Safari so fast its incredible. lovin the purchase.

So so happy.

SL for the win!

yes it's rock solid, however there are many many many corruptions in an upgrade from leopard. apple support is swamped with seriously complex corruption issues. a case of don't upgrade too early maybe?

i shouldn't have bee so hasty to upgrade.

my in-laws have a 24" iMac and i love it. it will definitely be the next mac i buy. glad to hear you like it.

Sorry to hear you have been experiencing issues. Fortunately im working smoothly. But from a speed aspect if anyone asked me i would suggest the upgrade. Using Leopard at work and now blasting the SL on my machine at home i certainly notice a difference.
