So I got my new '19 MBP13 not even a week ago, and the touch bar is already having issues. When I open the screen to take the computer out of sleep, is where the issues happen.

The issues are sometimes only half of the touch bar will show, or sometimes, none at all, until I touch the area where it isn't showing up. I've also had it where parts of the touch bar are non-responsive. Then this morning, I had it where some of the bar showed, but then I had only half of one of the icons showing.

Is this normal touch bar finicky-ness, or should I take it in?

  1. Open the Activity Monitor application, found within /Applications/Utilities/
  2. Find and locate “Touch Bar agent” process and kill it
Kill touch bar process to refresh Touch Bar

Refreshing Touch Bar from terminal
  1. Open the Terminal application, found in /Applications/Utilities/ directory
  2. Type the following command syntax:
  3. In MacOS Mojave:
    sudo pkill TouchBarServer

Try this if u haven't already, could save u a trip to the apple store

I've looked (and searched) and I can't find the touch bar agent. Odd. Any reason why it may not be there?

So doing the refresh didn't work. Is there any other comments/suggestions before I stroll into the apple store?

Today, the bar seems to not like to turn on when I lift the lid until I touch the bar.
