Hi,

since Chrome added Touch Bar support, this is my struggle (using MBP 16"). Basically, on some websites like Facebook or Medium typing and mainly hitting backspace and removing text messes up with the Touch Bar switching rapidly between the text editor and normal mode (so it flickers which is disturbing). Please see the video below to see how it manifests. The same happens with Chromium-based apps like Fb's Messenger.

I have reported the bug to Chromium some time ago but it wasn't really taken up, although it was confirmed to happen "when a page messes with the selection in a contenteditable element". And it seems it is apparently an issue for just a fragment of Mac users – but a pesky bug indeed for me and some others.

Have you come across this? Do you know any fix?

Any help appreciated! Thanks

Hey, anybody out there? The issue is similar to the one described here but I can't find anyone else experiencing this glitch really. Would really appreciate any suggestions. Cheers!

Were you able to figure out how to fix it? I'm having the same issue on Twitter & it's really frustrating 😭

I couldn't bear with it, so I simply disabled Chrome's app controls and defaulting to function keys for Chrome:

Yeah, I found that to be the only "workaround". But it's hardly optimal
