I am one of those apparently few people who really like the new Macbook Pros and I am especially a fan of the touch bar. Unfortunately I have run into some build/QC issues. My first machine made an obnoxious clicking noise during use and I returned. The replacement machine (which took another 4 weeks) seemed to be perfect until a few days ago when it started doing crazy stuff with the touch bar. Specifically, it seems like the touch bar is registering touches when I rest my palms on the palm rest while typing or using the trackpad. The behavior is inconsistent, but has persisted across reboots. I initially thought it might be a software issue, but it certainly seems to be triggered by putting weight on the outer right edge of the laptop.

Anyone else experience this? I'm going to make an appointment with Apple, but I'm pretty bummed. Happy with everything except for this problem. Not sure what to do here, I sold my old MBP after this one seemed to not have any problems. Can't be without a work computer even for a day.

Wow that's terrible.

That's a new one! Very strange.

I take it you have a BTO configuration that you don't think the Apple Store will have in stock? Maybe you should consider one they or some other supplier you trust does have in stock, buy it, and return this one when you get the new one.
