Touch Bar MacBook Pro Orders Begin Shipping to European Customers

The first wave of European shipments of MacBook Pros with Touch Bars appear to be out for delivery, after several Apple customers across the pond and beyond saw their orders enter the "Preparing for Dispatch" stage over the last 48 hours.

Many MacRumors readers in the EU are reporting notifications of imminent courier deliveries, while a handful of readers in Germany, Sweden, France, and the U.K. claim to have received their new MacBooks early this morning.

The new MacBook Pros sold out quickly, with shipping estimates moving from 2 to 3 weeks to 3 to 4 weeks hours after they went on sale. Current shipping estimates are 3 to 4 weeks. Apple's Phil Schiller said that the company has received more online orders for the new MacBook Pro than any previous model. Slice Intelligence sales estimates suggest the new model has already outsold all competing laptops in 2016.

The 13-inch MacBook Pro with Touch Bar starts at $1,799 while the 15-inch MacBook Pro with Touch Bar starts at $2,399.

I wish mine was.

The order status changed to 'Preparing for despatch' on Saturday and was due this week, but then it went back to Processing on Sunday. Yesterday evening I received this email:

Your revised dispatch date

Dear [name]
Thank you for your recent Apple Store order.

Due to higher than anticipated demand, we are unable to meet the dispatch date we previously estimated for your order.

We apologise for this delay. We are working to get your order to you as soon as possible.

We expect to dispatch your order on or before the 05/12/2016.

When your order dispatches we will send you an email with your new delivery date.

That is what mine did, changed to preparing to dispatch on Friday then yesterday switched back to processing, my orders going backwards!!!!

Manor in Geneva has the 13" non-touch bar, but that's it.

Qwertz swiss keyboard is all the sell locally. For Qwerty, you have to order online.

I ordered a 13" BTO on the 28th bound for switzerland. Changed to preparing for dispatch this morning.

Still waiting on a Belkin VGA-USB-C cable though, not the end of the world.

Ordered about 5 minutes after the online-store opened.

Yeah, got my 15" 2 tera maxed-out one this morning, London. Ordered an hour after event, BTW.
(Weirdly, the DHL guy asked my name, and just handed me the box without getting a signature scribble from me – I checked DHL tracking site, and noticed he had scribbled instead?! That can't be right.)

...just too tired to properly test today!

Really? People are that flippant now that they order a 2500eur laptop and it's like meh, got it, kinda tired, might switch it on tomorrow? May I suggest this is important when we are reading about other person's views and what is expected from such a purchase? I hope other people buying it rip the box open and sit there with huge eyes, amazed at their new machine and what it delivers.

Apple ships two different brands of display panels (LG and Samsung) and you can check this yourself by searching for "TCONVendor" in output of ioreg or IORegistryExplorer (property @ AppleIntelFramebufferController). The notebooks with LG display is "LGD" and notebooks with Samsung display "SDC".

Maybe that was the OPs polite way of saying "it's late I'm dating a supermodel who's waiting in bed for me"... and for some of us that would be more enticing than a new MBP... but to each their own
