'Touch Bar' Trending on Twitter Following Rumors It'll Be Removed on 2021 MacBook Pro

Which is why you bought a USB-c to HDMI adapter long before ever running into that situation.
Sure.

…and then you forget it, because you put it in a different bag.

(Yes, so you buy a second one…)

These are solvable problems, yes, but they are solutions to problems that didn't previously exist in the first place, so it's fair to criticize them. Not having those ports built in is a design tradeoff.

Wrong. Having to include legacy ports and all of the technology inside the machine is the design tradeoff that affects the entire product. This what you people don't understand. A better device was possible by losing that dead weight.

The OP made it clear. You conflate "options" to mean anything you want to suit your argument and completely miss/ignore what the OP points out. There was nothing else to say.
The juxtaposition of those posts is just fantastic.

That's what the caps lock key is for :)
Of course, I agree they never should have removed the physical escape key, but wow, the caps lock location is so good for that function, i switch my other (non-touchbar) computers to have the same behavior now.

So funny, because CAPS LOCK is such a relic and was used back in the days of physical keys to hold the shift mechanism up to make caps, when all caps was used as emphasis instead of italics, underline or bold.

Now, even if you want to annoy people with all caps, the iPhone method of double tapping the shift key works fine, as there is no physical linkage or shift mechanism to lift with a lock.

Disagree completely. I think you didn't read my post as I was taking into account what the OP said. Better luck next time!

Of course it does, and that's why it is not offered an option, but instead as a standard feature of the MacBook Pro. It is one of the features that Apple currently uses to distinguish between it's "professional" and "consumer" laptop lines.
Sort of, as there is the base level MBP but I see what you mean (as you can't upgrade that with a Touch Bar). I do see what you mean though, in terms of fewer options being available in general other than across scales like RAM, storage, CPU etc.

Either way it's a design tradeoff but they made the wrong one here. Embracing USB C? Great, now please do it on the iPhone! Embracing USB C as the only option and hoping everyone moves over? That failed. I'm glad they took the shot but it was too aggressive. It's hard to say I have the better device (even though I do in terms of specs etc) when I forget the USB C hub while my girlfriend's older laptop can handle USB drives just fine.

That’s true. Odd decision if they’re removing it but I guess they have stock to use.

That’s why I don’t believe that they are removing it. Leakers and analysts rarely have full info. They often just get notes, keywords or statements from the supply chain. We will only know for sure when the product is unveiled.

Not anymore, the new base MBP (M1 model) has the Touch Bar
Touch Bar won't be removed in the upcoming redesigned 2021 MBP and it's the feature that distinguishes between Air and Pro model. However, Apple can consider implementing the Touch Bar 2 with physical function key as a standard keyboard feature for all the mac model so the developer has more incentive to add support in their application.

Yea, I wouldn't really care if they just put it above the function keys and don't force it to do things like changing the volume, brightness, music.

Let it do all the video editing, emoji, window arrangement stuff. But don't replace my physical ESC, volume, brightness, music keys.
Mine has an escape button?

If you are typing 70 wpm I would assume you are using it as a desktop. Which in turn would allow you to use an external keyboard with all your precious F keys and a real mouse! Laying on the couch hunting and pecking the Touch Bar becomes very handy!
