I really was hoping for the 64GB as well. It sucks to see that the 16GB option has been available on every iteration of this phone and they haven't moved past this.

Agreed, my friend. My 16 GB iPad has been at cap since I bought it and if I get all my podcasts and TV show episodes on my iPhone, I almost cap that too.

But with the introduction of the Netflix app for iPhone and unlimited data plan... I don't think I'll need to load those onto the phone anymore. The clarity of Netflix over 3G is amazing.

We would already have 64GB flash for the iPhones. The problem is that its expensive so it will probably stay at 32GB

Also, can't Apple make 48GB Models for the iPod Touch [32GB & 16GB]????

What would be the point in that?

Cloud storage and streaming would help give us a bottomless pit.

But I'm happy I got the 32GB version. Have Family Guy Season 4/5/6 and it took about 5GB. This is 57 episodes in mostly QVGA resolution. Still have 14GB, but I know another 30+ episodes will fill it fast. Not all my pictures and videos are recovered from my computer yet. Had to take out my two LOST episodes in HD which included the series finale at over 3GB. I estimate about 5-7GB will be left when I get all my content back from my computer.

Just looking at the FCC images of the new Touch which is an 8GB model and it looks like there is only room for a single chip so they must be using a single 64Gb memory module now.

The 64GB chips just started coming available around Q2 of this year, so that wasn't really sufficient time to get them ready for the iPhone 4 launch. The supply always is hard at first too. If the new iPod touches have a single 64gb chip in them, then they actually might run into supply issues if the demand is high enough. I can only imagine if the iPhone 4 launched with it they would have had it even worse.
