I have two iPads using the same Apple ID. Both pros 9.7. One has 128 GB and its wifi only. The other 256 cel.

The 256 model unlocks the device with Touch ID and password enabled, redirecting me to the main screen.

The 128 model unlocks the iPad but keeps asking me to press the home button. Is this a bug?

There's a pattern of faulty software being shipped by Apple.

I remember when they did excellent work... How things have gone downhill.

The issue I had with one of the iPads was fixed by following these instructions:
http://www.***************/enable-disable-rest-to-finger-unlock-ios-10-on-iphone-ipad/

That option was turned off, that's why it wasn't working. TouchID can be used to unlock, there's no need to press the HOME button.

Anyway, I disabled TOUCHID after second thought. For me it's more easy to just slide to left and open a dictionary I have here in the widgets:

Than use TouchID everytime I close the Smart Cover.
