So I have tried about 15 times to register my phone and the touch ID is only working when I put the center of my thumb on the sensor. Is anyone else seeing a problem with the phone reading the edge of your finger?

well when the second step of registering your finger is scanning the edge of your finger...I would expect it to read the edge of my finger. Not exactly raising from the dead or walking on water.
So I have tried a couple more scans. Keeps failing because first it tells me to "Move my finger a little between scans" and then it says failed because "You moved your finger between scans". What the Crap Apple?
So apparently a freaking cat's paw works and I cant make my finger work. This is fantastic.

You're fingering it wrong?

You will find your finger print is situated at the center of the fleshy part of your thumb.
I read something about the "side" of the finger as we'll. just ignored it and placed my finger as I normally would. Worked fine.
Try installing iOS 7.0.1. I think that was released to address issues with the FP sensor. (Not sure exactly what, but it won't hurt.)
Keep using it, it should learn. Mine is already faster after only a few hours of use, it unlocks instantly now.
don't confuse "edge" of finger with "side" of finger.
If you're rotating your finger 90 degrees you're probably doing it wrong.
Try touching it off-center instead of turning your finger.
