Well, in feb this year I got my new MacBook Pro. Was great until, USB-C ports had cables falling out, and the anodising came off. New machine arrives, Metal coming out can vents and chunk out of bottom casing, won't sleep and speakers were tinny no bass. New machine arrives again. Damaged bottom casing and side only slight anodising missing. Turn it on use it due to hoping hardware is good this time, the screen... all greys and whites are pink and it glitches. Yet again calling apple at least the speakers work this time. What issues have you all had?
God I wish mine was like that. I'm a Systems engineer and this is my machine it's making work quite hard that I went back to my trusty 2011 machine and put this back in its box.
Originally bought the 13" touch bar, then a second one. Then added a 15" touch bar and sold one of the 13"s. Then sold my obsolete (for me) 2015 15" rMBP as fast as I could! No issues, nor do I know anyone outside of forums who've have a single problem with these new models. But this is where folks come to talk about problems...so here we are! R.
Had two refurbished 15" with clacking and high pitched keyboard keys. Not sure whether I want to try a 3rd time.
No issues personally, had some customers who have had some issues, but sold a crap ton of MBPs, so that is kind of to be expected (as the same situation applies to most high-volume products.)
Wow, don't ever play the lottery... or maybe you SHOULD play the lottery. You seem to have tons of luck. It just happens to be all bad up to this point. Mine has had some issues, but they're all software based issues that got resolved with OS updates. Hardware wise, my new MBP has worked as advertised.
Ive had - Touch ID sensor go bad in the second week of ownership. required a full replacement unit (a truly awful experience) - Keyboard issue (when warm the keys would clack and stick) that required a top case replacement - After this top case repalcement, Apple returned my laptop with two dents in the bottom casing -Currently waiting for a bottom casing. Ive not lost over 2 weeks with this computer. As an EE student this is a huge inconvenience, and overall this top spec (460, 2tb) laptop has been a huge let down. Not only with its reliability and the service I've received, but general performance is the worst I've ever seen from Apple. General lagginess and frequent crashes keep this beautiful machine from being great... so now my last resort for software issues is a clean restore of MacOS. You're not alone experiencing problems and problems. I trust Apple is taking care of you as they are me.
