This is a bluetooth mouse I found in my old computer parts drawer. The middle button is an optical scroll/touch sensor. Put new batteries in it and connected it to my IPP.

Left mouse button single taps or clicks
Right mouse button brings up app switcher/expose'
Middle mouse button brings up the dock
Side mouse button brings up top level menu
Scrolling on the middle mouse button/sensor scrolls

I put my iPad into dark mode and set the cursor to red. Other than the size/shape of the 'pointer' it works as I would expect a mouse to work.
