I thought it would be interesting to hear how people are using their gadgets...in this case, the Touch. Is it a be-all piece of 'work' or a piece of junk?

Well, mine's a 'work!!' Here's how I use mine...to start the thread..

I am gaming on it. I have solitaire, and a peg game. I also use my notes by keeping grocery lists and as a stock photographer; new ideas for photo shoots.

News: I'm reading the NY Times and AP news on my Touch as well as podcasting some news items as well....NPR and Fresh Air.

I keep photos on the photo utility. I change it frequently, so I have the latest stuff there. Haven't shared them much yet, but am looking forward to 'wowing' my family and friends with this little gem!

I check weather daily...several times.

I have used the clock to set an alarm, but find it minimally useful without a speaker....I got a chime via earphones which I happened to have on when the time ran out.

Haven't used maps yet, but look forward to it. Would love to hear more from people who are using other utilities on their Touch. I'm hoping to find more uses for it.

I haven't got a calendar to sync. I kept my calendar on Palm prior to Touch, and I don't think they can be synced.

I also kept eReader and many books on my shelf via Palm. Have downloaded eReader to my Touch, but find it a less robust version than the Palm one. I can't find bookmarks or notes on this version. Am I overlooking something?

Unfortunately, I am not yet giving up my Palm as I can't do everything on the Touch that I used to do on the Palm. Anyone else have experience with this?

Oh, I also kept a financial program on the Palm that kept track of all my transactions for my business. Can't seem to find one for the Touch that did everything that I was able to do with Palm's 'Money.' Wish I could find a program that could transfer all my data from Money and keep it updated on Touch!! Anyone?

Oh, I failed to mention podcasting and music that I listen to via Touch. Yes, I DO use it this way. Could have done same on Palm, but didn't.

Ok, tell us how U are using your Touch.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPod; U; CPU iPhone OS 2_0 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/525.18.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.1.1 Mobile/5A347 Safari/525.20)

I use my iPod Touch to listen to podcasts, when I am on the go.
At home I surf the web, check emails etc when I am not at my Macbook.
And I use it as a PDA replacement: Things, Notes, PocketMoney, NYT etc.

The iPod Touch is simply more handy when I am on the couch or in bed then my Macbook

I use my iPod Touch to listen to music, podcast's when I'm out and about. I also use it to check emails and abit of web surfing on the go and use games I've got from the App store when I'm bored.

How do I use my Touch? As an essential for my life :D

1. PDA - With MobileMe, how could I not? Automatic sync between my home iMac, work G5, and even personal Dell laptop?? Now with categorized calendar and improved email.. truly an unbelievable experience. It certainly blows the socks off my Tungsten T3. It keeps my bank account balance, lets me check the whether, look up businesses and get directions... Incredible.

2. Music - Obvious. There never has been an experience like using the Touch for it's simple iPod functions... I don't think I could ever go click-wheel ever again. It feels so clunky!

3. Videos - I'm a videographer and editor, and having a nice-looking device to whip out and show portfolio pieces to potential clients is so nice. It really wows them.

4. Games.

5. Safari

Seriously. After having my Touch for this long, I don't know how I could function efficiently without it. It's amazing, and I love it.
