That machine is 6 months away No one knows whether it will have a touchbar keyboard or not yet.
The intro video shows a keyboard without TB

Did they already kill it?
No but not highlighting new features in high sierra is surprising.

This was probably the biggest disappointment of the keynote for me... was expecting the leaked new keyboard to turn out to feature a Touch Bar and Touch ID, not just a number pad! :(

Doesn't need to be leaked, since they rolled out new iMacs, it would have been a great time to introduce a keyboard with TB. So far this makes Touch Bar so much of a niche product. I mean Macs are only 7 or 10 percent of the market, and of that small percentage only two models of Macs have TB which Apple is wanting developers to spend time, money and effort to leverage TB, yet it may not make sense for many developers.

I was referring to the regulatory leaks of late last week, which indicated a new keyboard was coming. I was disappointed that it turned out to be the Magic Keyboard with Number Pad.

But yes I agree with your points.

I found it a little confusing and disappointing to be honest. I actually would buy a imac pro keyboard with a touchbar. seems like a no brainer if they're serious about this concept. They seem to become increasingly 'lazy'...

Probably this September Apple will announce Pro Keyboard with modified WatchOS featuring touchbar and touchID

Are you ready to pay $400 for a keyboard with touchbar? Apple laptops with touchbar are at least $300 more expensive than non-tB models.

Just a thought but did they not add it due to wireless keyboard?

a screen would hammer battery?

A wired keyboard could draw power from the imac.

maybe this is why?

there was a thread last year in the iMac forum about a possible wireless keyboard with TB. Much of the discussion did center around possible battery issues.
