I have a MacBook and I was cleaning my trackpad with mr cleans magic eraser, I noticed as I squeezed it once that it dripped a white liquid of some sort so I stopped immediately, cleaned it off and took out the battery. Unfortunately, the battery was wet as was the area where you put the battery back in from the wet liquid. Now my keypad is not recognized and my touchpad do not work at all. There is no apple store near me and the closest one is a few hours away. However, I might go to Dallas where my brother lives to visit for the weekend and take my MacBook there to have it checked out and see if it can be repaired. I hope the cost of it isn't alot. I bought this off a local person and it had no applecare. Meanwhile, i'd like to get some suggestions to try and help me fix this problem please. I do not have a keyboard with usb so that's out of the question. I tried the pram idea, no luck and since the keypad does not work I cannot reboot into test mode either or anything. I cannot even eject the disc. Please help, Thanks!

I would suggest that you remove the battery and do not apply any power to it. Let it sit for a few days and let it dry out. If not you can damage it more.

okay. but what would the battery matter in this case? It does charge and it also holds charge. The macbook works well with and without the battery being charged. So any other ideas?

Thread Closed. I left it off overnight and turned it on this morning and it's working fine for now. I am still going out of town to Dallas and have it checked out just in case. Thanks
