Hey everyone....I was at the Philadelphia International Auto Show the other day and was walking around the Nissan section and noticed they were all using iMacs. Had one at their information desk and a second on another table for attendees to use. It appeared to be the smaller version however there was no keyboard...no mouse..no trackpad...HOWEVER it was touchscreen. Has apple produced any touch screen iMacs or displays? I had my own grimey fingers all over this screen navigating Nissans website. The cursor and pointer would basically just be controlled with one finger. No multi touch gestures worked.

Are you sure it was an iMac? Or just a computer running OS X?

Apple never has. But there is a third party, I forget the name, that will sell iMacs and Studio Displays that are touch compatible. I remember using a touchscreen G4 iMac in a museum once. Coolest thing ever.

there had always been touch screen iMac's from third party vendors right since the tray loader iMac g3 and most had been sold to shops
i'd love to get one of the old G3 iMac with touchscreen i only discovered one slot loader once on mercado livre
it was even a iMac g3 with fastmac 550ghz G4 upgrade a rarity in itself as most are in hands of collectors now but with touchscreen even rarer ,but someone else had more cash available as i had to calculate with shipping cost as the online auction was in brazil :(

Looks very cool. I'm going to assume they're just "regular" touchscreens, not Wacom-quality ones that e.g. the ModBook guys use?
