Considering this, I really don't see apple just adding a touchscreen for the sake of it. It's got to have either a detachable keyboard, or one that folds around the back of the Mac, otherwise what would be the point?

On the other hand, the iPad Pro exists....I really don't understand why they call it the iPad Pro, it doesn't even have a pro chip.

M5 Max now, a new machine in 3 years, after the bugs are worked out

I through the same when I bought a 2020 Intel MBP knowing about the Apple Sillicon transition.

Then, M1 13" MacBook Pro was launched, and was absolutely flaweless.

So, I bought a M1 13" MacBook Pro less than a year later thinking that the M1 Pro 14" would be full of bugs because of the Mini-LED display.

Turn out to be even better, without absolutely any issue.

So, I bought less than a year later a M1 Pro 14", my current daily driver.

Looking foward to be early adopter for the M6 OLED as soon as it launches. No worries at all being "early adopter".

Touch screen Mac OLED is my dream computer. Hopefully, it will be produced and available soon. It will be definitely major innovation on Mac computer and transform Mac user experience! ❤️❤️❤️

The bill of materials for the first Apple TV Remote from 2010 (also with a trackpad) was estimated at $6.10.
If we assume that BOM has doubled for the 3rd generation, it is still a markup of ~400%.
Which is absolutely absurd.
What is "absolutely absurd" ?? Anyone who thinks that tech products in the mix of a firm like Apple either are or should be priced based on materials % markup needs to get better educated.

I don’t mind a touchscreen, but it needs to be intuitive. The Mac has a precise cursor for navigation. Frankly, I wish apps were more information-dense. However, OLED is the feature I’m prioritizing, not the touchscreen.

Since it's obvious that the next update to the OLED display will only be on the M6Pro/M6Max, do you think the basic M6s that they'll presumably launch in a few months' time will immediately have OLED and no notch or will they still be like the current M5 with notch and not-oled display?
