Dread to think what your kids are doing to them to cause such damage!

What you could do it buy a roll of self amalgamating tape and cover the cable and plastic parts of the connectors with it. Would make them much tougher.

Actually, my son stole my black duct tape and uses it for this. (black is cooler than grey, you know)

But you did give me a great idea. I used to roll my own cables, and still have all sorts of parts left. I should just take new cables and apply heat shrink and whatever else seems sturdy to 'improve' whatever cables we get.

And then maybe some ECT.

Ah ye, heat shrink would do a great job too. Cant imagine you could buy a cable that tough without spending a fortune.

Check this out. My 15yo decided on his own to get a .5m cable so he "won't be able to use it with the cord attached." (preventing the bending/breaking issue we've discussed here)

I have hope!

Heat shrink !

that's the ticket.
i used aluminum duct tape on to size the cord and flex pc below the plastic connector to make them near the same size as the plastic connector, then used heat shrink tube to tie it all together.
i will send a pic as soon as i can

I am also looking for these. My situation is that we'll have mobile sales reps running around with them. Most of these users are rough on their equipment, so lifeproof, Otterbox or some other sort of rugged case are a no brainer, but I also don't want to burn through lightning cables as I expect I may.
